Sun Belt: Cabalcor is a seventy-minute music-theatre performance drawing on invented primary sources from the Cabalcor book, such as journals, film transcripts, illustrations, and environmental reports. A multilayered combination of songs, slideshows and readings provides an immersive glimpse into the history of Sun Belt's allegorical fossil-fuel boom town. Sun Belt: Cabalcor debuted as a commissioned production at the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival in 2015. It has also been presented as shorter “poetics” presentations in environments such Vancouver Real Writers Series and Canzine West. These shows feature a singer/historian with guest readers—often volunteers from the audience—and Sun Belt collaborators up to various forms of no good.
Also, Sun Belt sometimes just plays tunes.
